The Best Vegan Homemade Chocolate Spread

Published

on

If I should simply describe this chocolate spread then it is: creamy, rich in flavor, chocolate and healthy. It is the perfect dessert that will make you happy just like real chocolate does!

Additionally, this cream is vegan, does not contain gluten and added sugars, and does not contain nuts or soy.

You can use as a spread on anything – I like to spread it on whole wheat bread or add it in my oatmeal or smoothies. It can of course, be eaten with a spoon from the jar, or in any way you prefer.

Vegan Homemade Chocolate Spread

Ingredients:

  • 160 g cocoa butter
  • 9-10 soaked dates (or Medjool)
  • 1 can (400 ml) of coconut milk
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Preparation:

  1. Put the cocoa butter in a small bowl and melt it over low heat.
  2. Soak the dates briefly in warm water, then peel them and chop finely. If you use Medjool dates, you don’t have to soak them.
  3. Pour the butter into a blender and add all the other ingredients and blend until you get a homogeneous, creamy mixture.
  4. Then pour the mixture into bowls, shake the bowls lightly to make bubbles and put the cream in the refrigerator to cool.
