The Best Comforting Creamy Oatmeal Recipe
One of the things that I missed a lot while I was on a paleo diet is this oatmeal. Oats and oat products are not allowed on the paleo diet.
After 2 years, I decided to put it back in my diet and I can say that it made my life much easier. It may sound dramatic, but it is a living truth. I want to make it because the meal is prepared in 5 minutes, the oatmeal is available in literally every supermarket and with different toppings I get a different taste, so I can never get bored.
In addition, oats are full of nutrients and are a great option for a healthy meal. This is my best classic recipe, but of course feel free to be creative and add / subtract according to your personal taste.

The Best Comforting Creamy Oatmeal
Ingredients
- 250 ml. nut milk (I usually use almond milk, but any milk will be fine)
- 50 gr. oats
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (or more as desired)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 banana, coarsely mashed **
** Bananas are optional and can be omitted freely. I want to add it because it gives a more creamy and thick taste to the oatmeal, but without it it would be equally delicious.
Method of preparation
- In a small saucepan, add all the ingredients (except the banana) and place on a low-medium heat.
- Mix all ingredients with a spoon to combine.
- Stir occasionally to avoid burning.
- It takes about 5-6 minutes, the oatmeal is ready when the oats absorb the liquid and you will get a thickened mixture.
- Add the coarsely mashed banana to the saucepan with oatmeal and mix again.
- Add to a deep bowl and add toppings as desired. My favorites are toasted nuts, granola, fresh fruit, nut butter, chia seeds etc.
- For the best taste – it is consumed warm!
