Stuffed Apples with Honey, Rum and Nuts
Servings 4
Ingredients
- 4 big apples
- 2 tbsp rum
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 cup chopped nuts (I used hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts)
- 1/4 cup raisins or dry cranberry (optional)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- a couple of cloves (optional)
- pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 ° F. Cut the apples on top along the entire length as if you were cutting a "cap", which you will need to cover later. Then, with the help of a knife and a spoon, remove the middle part of the apples where the seeds are located. Make sure the apples remain whole.
- In another bowl, mix the rum, honey, raisins or cranberries, nuts of your choice, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then fill each apple with the mixture, and finally cover with the "cap". Finally, bake for about 20 minutes, until soft. Serve warm.
