Cleansing Turmeric Smoothie Recipe
If you regularly read my posts, you have probably noticed that I am all about getting as much nutrition in the recipes as possible. I tend to use nutrient dense super-foods whenever I cook. I have noticed just how much better I feel and look when I eat this way. My family got used to it as well! Everyone feels a lot more energized and healthy.

Turmeric is an amazing super-food used in Chinese and Indian spice and a natural medicine for centuries. I came up with this smoothie as I wanted to add some color to my smoothie and it turned out to be one of my favorites!
Most of us are used to cook with dry turmeric, but let me convince you why you should consider getting some fresh turmeric root and use it in smoothies and cooking.
Healthy Turmeric Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 orange, peeled
- 1 banana, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
- 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
- 1 tsp fresh turmeric, peeled and grated (or 1/2 teaspoon dried turmeric)
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- 1/8 cup almond milk (optional)
Instructions
- In a blender place all ingredients except for the milk and the ice. Blend until smooth.
- Add the milk if you prefer a thinner smoothie, or add the ice if you would like a thicker version of the smoothie.
This creamy, tasty turmeric smoothie brings a tropical flavor that will make you happy just by looking at it.
Turmeric is a great antioxidant and contains anti-inflammatory properties that can contribute to fight inflammation in the body.
